About Me

I am a certified Nutritional Therapist Practitioner. NTP's help clients by focusing on bio-individuality. Everyone has a different and unique nutritional pathway that will lead them optimal health. Two people can have the same symptoms, but the the root of their problems can be very different. A nutrient dense, properly prepared diet from whole foods will bring balance to everyones body, mind, and spirit. However, nutrition must be customized to meet individual needs.

Growing up I dealt with eczema, acne, stomach pain, digestive issues, and depression/anxiety at different times of my life. Doctors and specialists never mentioned that these symptoms are often from food allergies, candida overgrowth, and vitamin/mineral deficiencies. They simply gave me drugs to cover up the symptoms. By the time I was in my 20's the symptoms couldn't be covered up anymore and I started doing research to figure out what was really going on. Visit my favorite books page to see what I read to help turn my life around.

Turns out I have food intolerance's to gluten, dairy, eggs, and soy. The antibiotics that a Dr. had put me on for 3 years straight completely destroyed my gut flora and I developed a leaky gut. Candida yeast overgrowth took over my digestive tract. The low fat diet I had been following for years had caused my gall bladder to quit releasing bile so I wasn't able to digest fat or absorb vitamins A, D, E, and K. My stomach quit producing adequate amounts of HCl, so food wasn't getting broken down. Instead fats went rancid, proteins putrefied, and carbohydrates fermented in my stomach. I was dealing with the worst IBS and chronic fatigue on a daily basis.

During the process of trying to heal my body and get my vitality back, I found the Nutritional Therapy Association. I decided my journey wasn't over once I started to heal my body. Now, I want to help other people who are suffering. Who can't figure out why they aren't getting better from the drugs their Doctors are giving them.

I enjoy being in the kitchen and use this blog mainly to post nutrient dense, properly prepared, whole food recipes (although you'll find some treats as well). This way others can learn that it's not so hard to make quality food that hasn't been highly processed, filled with chemicals, hormones, sugar, and hydrogenated fats/oils.
